The 39th Incontro di Grammatica Generativa will be held on February 21-23, 2013 at the Università di Modena e Reggio Emilia, Italy.

The conference will host general sessions, thematic sessions, and one poster session.

Abstracts are welcome on any topic in generative grammar, in particular from fields other than syntax
(phonology, morphology, semantics, language acquisition, psycholinguistics).


For thematic sessions, abstracts are encouraged on the following subjects:

= Exploring microvariation in the nominal domain: dialects, syntax and the dynamics of language change
= Remodeling overt and covert movement
= Discovering null elements: the role of elliptic structures
= Representing specificity: grammatical reflexes of a semantic category in a crosslinguistic perspective
= Morphological variation and language contact
= Destroying syntactic structures: what do language disorders tell us about the structure of grammar?
= The acquisition of L2 and its implications on language change


Authors are asked to submit their abstracts as PDF file to the following address:

Please, indicate whether your abstract should be considered for poster only, for presentation only, or for both, by clicking the appropriate button on the submission page.

The abstract should include the title and three keywords/phrases that best describe its content.
Submissions should be anonymous and not reveal the identity of the author(s) in any form (e.g., references, file name of the abstract).
Abstracts should not exceed two pages in length (including examples and references), in 12-point type, Times font, single line spacing, 2.5 cm margins.

Submissions are limited to a maximum of one individual and one joint abstract per author, or two joint abstracts per author.
Talks will be 30 minutes + 10 minutes for discussion.
The official languages of the conference will be Italian and English.

The Fondazione Marica De Vincenzi ONLUS will offer a prize of 500 euros to the best paper or poster accepted (and presented) by a PhD student or Postdoc as first author. More information and instructions on the Conference website.


Deadline for abstract submission: December 3, 2012.
Notification of acceptance: no later than January 18, 2013.
